Potters

Lasser Ceramics

Since the 1980's, Dan Lasser has been producing dinnerware, accent pieces, sculptures and garden ceramics for homes and galleries out of his studio in Londonderry, VT. Dan's use of color and unique glazing methods produce pottery that harmonizes with both the contemporary and the nostalgic. Dan envisions himself doing this forever- being in the studio as an old man, but still feeling like the child that fell in love with pottery. See more on Dan's Instagram and website.

Rooted In Clay

Shana Brautigam is the potter and teaching artist working at Rooted in Clay in Rindge, NH since 2003. Her interest in clay began when she was nine years old, and learned how to use the pottery wheel at a local potter’s studio in Durham, NH. She continued to take pottery classes on and off for several years. She worked hard at developing her unique hand-built style, and exploring different avenues for selling her work. In 2003, Shana opened Rooted in Clay and has been welcoming visitors and offering pottery classes ever since. See her Instagram and website for more of her work.

West Hill Studio

West Hill Studio’s Leila Meehan has been providing the Marketplace since 2020. Her functional pottery pieces range from mugs, bowls, and vases, to hanging planters, luminaries, and sponge holders. Stylistically, West Hill stands out for its distinct glazing and painting patterns, which use harsher lines and colors than many of our other potters. Her hanging planters have been especially popular in the Marketplace during warm weather months. See her Instagram for more of her pottery!

Amy Shinerock

Amy Shinerock is a gifted potter, who has worked at her craft since the 1970s. She has a master’s degree in ceramics and spent many years in Japan studying wood-firing techniques. Her vessels are created with the intention to achieve inner stillness and yield beauty. Now settled in West Medford, MA Amy continues to create beautiful pieces with a Japanese touch.

Katherine Weston

Katherine Weston is a new potter in the marketplace, who brings in her signature cat vases and spirit houses. Her cats come in small, medium, and large sizes, and in a variety of cat coats! They are adorable pieces for flowers or airplants, and can also be used to holdpencils, utensils, keys, and more!

Voice of Clay

Voice of Clay is located at 16 Meetinghouse Hill Road and nestled in the small town of Brookline, NH. It was founded on the basic principle that clay has the unique ability to focus the mind, body and spirit. Clay is Alchemical, transmuting Earth, Air, Fire and Water into what we need. Their services, classes and purpose are all centered on this idea, slowing down, taking the time to be present and transmuting what is no longer needed. Voice of Clay’s Wendy Walters has been with the Marketplace for years. See her work on her Instagram and website!

Old Settler's Pottery

Barbara Davis of Old Settler's Pottery brings pottery into the Marketplace that are all within her rustic, feminine aesthetic. She brings mugs, plates, and bowls in multiple sizes, as well as doll-pieces small enough for a doll house! Barbara's studio is based out of Alstead, NH where she throws her own pottery and teaches classes. She recently started selling in the Marketplace in 2021, but she was actually a Marketplace member several years ago! We are so excited to have her back on our shelves. See her Instagram and website.

Funky Rock Designs

At Funky Rock Designs, each rock is hand-picked and carried to their workshop in Maine. Each piece is individually drilled to create vases, lamps, soap dispensers, candle holders, booze dispensers, and several other products. Some rocks are left natural, while others are hand-treated with oil to bring out their vibrant color or design, just as you would see them if they were washed up by a wave onto the beach!
