WHO WE ARE
We're Hannah Grimes Marketplace. For 27 years we've been providing opportunity to hundreds of local businesses by selling their products in our retail store at 42 Main Street in downtown Keene, NH. We are a part of the Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship, and our work is at the center of the Monadnock Region's local economy. Right now we're growing the operation and exploring many new opportunities, and we’re looking for the right candidate eager to support the “buy local” movement through their work.
WHO YOU ARE
- Someone who is looking for seasonal work through early January of 2025.
- Someone who is passionate about the "buy local" movement and wants to help small businesses grow and succeed.
- Someone who is able to work on your feet, standing and walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders up to 6', handling delicate materials such as glass, and operating tools like box cutters and hammers.
- Someone who is comfortable around technology, especially Windows PCs with printers, and Android tablets with Bluetooth peripheral hardware.
- Someone with a customer service mindset, a pleasant demeanor, and a capacity for maintaining both while handling a fast-paced work environment.
- Someone is looking to grow their skill-set and work hard at a place that inspires them.
- Someone who is available to work flexible hours. The starting availability we are looking for is: Monday 1:45-6:30, Wednesday 9:30-2:00, Saturday 9:30-2:15. The Monday shift will shift in December to as late as 8:30pm.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide top-notch customer service in a premium retail environment.
- Run transactions for customer purchases.
- Provide packaging solutions for purchases; including construction of gift baskets/boxes, packaging fine art for shipment, and securely wrapping glass and other delicate materials.
- Fulfill online and bulk orders.
- Conduct inventory counts.
- Execute the store’s merchandising plan to maintain an abundant and aesthetically-pleasing sales floor.
- Open/close the store depending on shift worked.
- Clean shelves, floors, office spaces, bathrooms and our kitchenette as needed, including occasional deep cleans.
- Process trash and recycling.
- Manage a cash drawer and petty cash account with accuracy, and take part in basic banking practices.
- Manage data in the Shopify e-commerce environment to help the store build out our online presence.
- Other tasks and projects as assigned.
WHAT WE PAY: $14/hour. All employees also enjoy a 15% discount on purchases at the store.
